"I would love your feedback"
[edit]I've edited your draft and left some meaningful edit summaries to fulfil the feedback request. By the way, it's generally recommended to create articles in draft space rather than user space. The reason is that if something is in draft space, if another editor starts a draft on the same topic, they get shown that there's something already there. Given that your topic is somewhat obscure, you are probably safe, though. Furthermore, I reckon your draft is good enough for you to submit it for review. I hope this is helpful. Schwede66 00:10, 21 January 2025 (UTC)
- Kia ora, thank you @Schwede66 that's much appreciated! I believe I have successfully converted it to a proper draft article now: Draft:Platypus (submarine). I have a few more bits of information and sources to add, plus a photo, and then I'll submit it for review – looking forward to it. Thanks again! Hillmenco (talk) 06:34, 22 January 2025 (UTC)
- You’ve successfully moved your writing to draft space. Well done. Followed exactly the right process. Schwede66 07:20, 22 January 2025 (UTC)

MangoMan11 (talk) 04:40, 30 September 2025 (UTC)Copying licensed material requires attribution
[edit]Hi. I see in a recent addition to Water pollution in the Canterbury Region you included material from a webpage that is available under a compatible Creative Commons Licence. That's okay, but you have to give attribution so that our readers are made aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. It's also required under the terms of the license. I've added the attribution for this particular instance. Please make sure that you follow this licensing requirement when copying from compatibly-licensed material in the future. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 13:00, 30 September 2025 (UTC)
- Hi there, are there any guidelines about when exactly to add an attribution like this? Be good to know for the future, as I can see how the wording I've put in the article is quite similar to what's written in the paper's abstract, but it hasn't been copied word-for-word. Thanks! Hillmenco (talk) 20:20, 30 September 2025 (UTC)
- If there's any overlapping material or if it's quite similar, you should add the attribution template. This particular edit was picked up by a bot that detects copying, so there was definitely enough overlap in this particular instance. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 22:24, 30 September 2025 (UTC)
ArbCom 2025 Elections voter message
[edit]Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2025 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:52, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
Mass message sender
[edit]Kia ora Sophie, can I please ask you to read Wikipedia:Mass message senders#Guidance for use? My intention is to assign you the massmessage user right. Once you've got that, you can use the Wikipedia:NZ-non-WANZ-members mailing list to send messages to editors with an interest in New Zealand topics who are not members of WANZ via Special:MassMessage. It might be best if I looked over your shoulder before you hit the send button for the first time. Schwede66 01:51, 3 December 2025 (UTC)
- Kia ora Axel, thanks for this. I have read through the information and it all makes sense, would be great to have your oversight as I get the first one out. Will email you to arrange a time. Hillmenco (talk) 22:03, 4 December 2025 (UTC)
Mass message sender granted
[edit]
Hello. Your account has been granted the "massmessage-sender" user right, allowing you to send messages to multiple users at once. A few important things to note:
- Messages should only be sent to groups of users who are likely to be interested in the topic.
- For regular mailings such as those for WikiProjects, localized events, or newsletters, users should be informed of how they can unsubscribe from future mailings.
- The mass messaging tool should never be used for canvassing with the intention of influencing the outcome of discussions.
- You can create a new MMS list of users by moving one from this page.
- Consider sending a test message to yourself, to ensure that the message doesn't contain broken HTML that breaks talk pages.
- Messages should be signed with four tildes. This will place the signature of "MediaWiki message delivery" and will make sure that archive bots eventually archive the section.
- Users should not be wikilinked directly in your message, or they will all get pinged. Please use {{Noping}} or similar if you need to wikilink a user.
For more information, refer to the guidance for use. If you do not want mass message sender rights anymore, just let me or any other administrator know and we will remove it. Thank you and happy editing! Schwede66 23:29, 4 December 2025 (UTC)

Moa Point wastewater facility breakdown
[edit]Hi Hillmenco, you will be pleased to know that User:Marshelec has written a section about the Moa Point wastewater treatment plant at Moa Point#Wastewater treatment plant. Feel free to get in touch with him to see if it can be spun off into a separate article. Or whether it is best as a section within an article. Hope to see you on Friday. Andykatib (talk) 05:30, 9 February 2026 (UTC)
- @Andykatib@Hillmenco There is more extensive coverage of wastewater in Wellington, including the current major failure, in the "specialist topic" article: Water supply and sanitation in the Wellington Region#Wastewater. I did add a short mention of the current wastewater disaster into the Wellington article, but it got reverted for reasons that I don't agree with. I will give it a few days and then put something back into the Wellington article. At this stage, I don't think a separate article about the Moa Point treatment plant failure is needed, but we can make another call on this as the resolution unfolds over the next few months._Marshelec (talk) 05:44, 9 February 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks @Marshelec: for covering the topic. Keep up the good work. Andykatib (talk) 05:48, 9 February 2026 (UTC)
- @Andykatib Thanks. You will see that over the years, I have put a lot of work into the specialist article, but it has attracted relatively few pageviews until recently :)_Marshelec (talk) 06:16, 9 February 2026 (UTC).
