Hello, Harrycain4, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with Wiki Education; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Hi @Harrycain4, thanks so much for taking part in a Wiki Education course, and for choosing Clouding of consciousness as one of your topics! Though I'm not totally familiar with the structure of your course (If your professor @Nmarti40 might provide some insight, it would be appreciated), I'd love to be of any assistance that I could if it can inspire substantive improvements to this article (or, ultimately, inspire you to take part in improving Wikipedia outside the context / timeframe of your class). This message is a bit long-winded, so don't feel bad if you need to slice it up a bit.

I apologize, as I'd hoped to send you this message sooner, but I've gotten caught up with a number of other concerns recently. Outside of a few scuffles on other parts of the website, I've had to devote time to other areas, as the topics I typically frequent have required significant assistance on account of recent world events. Beyond that, I'm finishing up (what I hope to be only one part of!) my higher education at the moment, which has been rather demanding as well. This article has been a pet project of mine recently, partly as a result of my own brain fog, which has served as a significant struggle for me as of late; I'd love any help that you or anyone else from your class could provide in shaping it up to be one of the best articles on the website, which is a goal I'd like to accomplish by summertime of this year. To that end, I'd be happy to show you (or any of your classmates, who might be interested in switching their topic of interest ;) ) the ropes of site policy or the basics of source coding if it would be of assistance to you in improving the page.

I might suggest checking out the article talk page to get a little bit of context as to what the present concerns for the page are. We're currently trying to work out how best to split the article into a number of subtopics (I say we, but in reality, I'm really the only one that's been making substantive additions to the page over the past year or so). Though it doesn't appear that we're fully prepared to do so yet, improving the content in the sections relevantly covered by expand tags in various sections is the first of these goals. As you can see, there are a number of sections that are entirely blank. These are areas of concern that I've identified as being relevant to the discussion of disease/illness specific brain fog, but information on these subtopics is far easier to come by (or zero in on) than the conceptualization of the topic as a whole. Thus, it's my view that the most important areas to consider expanding, at present, are the Background and Psychopathology sections, as they ultimately determine what information fits where, and what should eventually be split out into individual specialty articles. I'd love to hear what your thoughts are, or what your primary interests in assisting with this project are. I'll wait to hear from you, but please don't hesitate to leave me a message here or on my talk page. If you'd like to ping me, you can do using the @ feature on the visual editor, or in source code by typing "@User:CSGinger14 (don't forget to put it in double brackets). I hope you're well, and will look forward to your reply!
