Links to draft articles
[edit]
Please do not introduce links to draft articles in actual articles, as you did to Molasses. Since a draft is not yet ready for the main article space, it is not in shape for ordinary readers, and links from articles should not go to a draft. Such links are contrary to the Manual of Style. These links have been removed. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 12:08, 3 September 2025 (UTC)

Welcome!
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions; however, please remember the essential rule of respecting copyrights. Edits to Wikipedia, such as your edit to the page Draft:TeX font encodings, may not contain material from copyrighted sources unless that text is available under a suitable free license. - Why did you remove that? You said it's because it's copyrighted but I don't know at what point something starts getting copyrighted. Is the paraphrased version I added as a replacement okay? or is it still copyrighted? Getdincts (talk) 20:33, 19 April 2026 (UTC)
- The source document is marked as "© Copyright 1995–2016". That's how you can tell it's copyrighted. There's still some overlapping content in your draft, which you can view using Earwig's tool. Overlapping prose is highlighted. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 03:24, 20 April 2026 (UTC)
- The URL https://docplayer.net/8880030-L-a-tex-font-encodings.html timed out before any data could be retrieved. Getdincts (talk) 17:31, 20 April 2026 (UTC)
- I tried it just now, and it loaded very quickly. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 19:21, 20 April 2026 (UTC)
- Violation unlikely
- 16.7% similarity :) Getdincts (talk) 20:01, 20 April 2026 (UTC)
- Don't just look at the percentage. If you scroll down, you will see the paragraph
"OT3 (aka UW IPA encoding) is a 7-bit TeX font encoding used for IPA. It was never really used with LaTeX 2ε following the introduction of the TIPA system which offers much better support for IPA. No ot3enc.def file was ever produced. This encoding is supported by the wsuipa package"
has a lot of overlap. This needs to be fixed please. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 20:23, 20 April 2026 (UTC)- I fixed it. Getdincts (talk) 20:27, 20 April 2026 (UTC)

The page Phut (disambiguation) has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it was an orphaned disambiguation page which either
- disambiguated only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ended in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
- disambiguated zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
- was a redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that did not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.
Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hello, I'm Belbury. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Fish and chips, but you didn't provide a reliable source. On Wikipedia, it's important that article content be verifiable. If you'd like to resubmit your change with a citation, your edit is archived in the page history. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. The apparently self-published web essay you were citing is not considered a reliable source by Wikipedia. Belbury (talk) 14:27, 2 June 2026 (UTC)
- I second Belbury's comment, and would like to add that when there is a dispute like this on Wikipedia, you should not just re-add what was just deleted. That is WP:Edit warring. --Macrakis (talk) 18:22, 2 June 2026 (UTC)
- Okay. Getdincts (talk) 18:30, 2 June 2026 (UTC)
