Spring Harvest Article
[edit]Hi FlyingKestrel. I've added a topic to the talk page of the article as a lot of information has been added with no citations. Some of the information has been added by yourself. As you seem to know a lot about the subject I wondered if it might be a good project for you to search for citations. What do think? Knitsey (talk) 19:04, 24 September 2022 (UTC)
- How do I add a citation? Is that to show proof of where the information has come from? FlyingKestrel (talk) 23:04, 27 December 2022 (UTC)
- I see you are a new editor. Welcome! A few preliminaries;
- Everything in Wikipedia is based on reliable, secondary sources. See WP:RS. This means from high quality publications that are usually independent of the topic itself. So, on the whole, not from the organisation's own website, nor from "fandom" places.
- If you are an employee of SH (or have some other close relationship with them), you almost certainly should not directly edit the article itself. The Wikipedia guidelines are WP:COI and WP:PAID. Instead, you should make suggestions at the article 'talk page', in this case Talk:Spring Harvest, suggesting the change you would like to see, together with a supporting reference from a reliable source. Then another editor will pick it up, assess it and (hopefully!) make a suitable change.
- If you would like to suggest several changes, try to keep them independent of each other. Several small suggestions are better than one all-inclusive mega-request.
- In the case of this SH article, I suggest you read through Talk page itself, to see the sort of discussion, and supporting reasoning, of the changes that have been made over the years (and why)... and equally importantly of the material that has been removed (and why).
- For the specific How do I add a citation? the most important thing by far is actually finding the citation in the first place then bringing it to (for example) the talk page. That's the real value you bring to the table to begin with; other editors can assist with the mechanics of adding it.
- Anyway take a read through those links above, then head on over to Talk:Spring Harvest to start raising topics for improvement.
- Hope that helps. Feline Hymnic (talk) 14:45, 28 December 2022 (UTC)
