Hi Joe, thanks for adding a citation, but the reason why I mentioned WP:IPCV in my initial note is that, for things like references in popular culture, we should provide a secondary source. The goal isn't to establish the existence of the reference, but rather that the occurrence of the reference attracted some degree of notice or attention. This is an important distinction, as otherwise one could bloat the article on The Simpsons by mentioning every single instance of them referencing Citizen Kane (much less everything else that show has ever referenced).
