Chakrapani interview
[edit]Sorry for the delay in going through the interview. It did not give any indication of notability. The interviewers only said he has got a lifetime achievement award, although a bit late in life. Chakrapani also said he expected the awards earlier in life. He started with Punarmilan (1976, B&W) which was his first Odia film, but it is not clear if he was the lead or a supporting role. He says the film was a hit, I don't see it in List of Odia films of 1976, but is listed in List of Odia films of 1977, where he is shown as lead. His role in the other films mentioned Sati Ansuya (shown as lead in List of Odia films of 1978), Seeta Labkush (the second lead as per List of Odia films of 1980), Kavi Samrat is also not clear. When he was studying in film institute chennai, Rajanikant was his 1-year senior and Chiranjeevi was his junior. After passing out of the film institute he did Odia and Telugu films. One day Ramoji Rao phoned him saying if he is ready, he can start an Odia TV channel. Chakrapani was in Odisha at the time, and he had the love of Odia people, so he thought it was a good opportunity and took charge of the Odia channel.
He could satisfy NACTOR as the lead of multiple films, but the films themselves don't have articles. His son's article has an unsourced statement: "[chakrapani].. was once a leading actor in the Odia film industry.", but he's not listed at Cinema of Odisha § Actors or at List of people from Odisha § Actors. After reading the film's premise in reviews, I feel it is Ranma ½ with a twist. Does it remind you of the same? Kailash29792 (talk) 11:25, 14 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Kailash29792: I don't watch anime, does a reliable source confirm the same? DareshMohan (talk) 23:54, 15 June 2026 (UTC)
- Um, no. I just brought up this topic for the heck of it, don't think I'd add even if I found a source. Just thought you'd read the articles and compare them. In fact, I'd seen only a few episodes of Ranma 1/2. Kailash29792 (talk) 00:25, 16 June 2026 (UTC)
I have created this draft. Do you see potential? Manick22, please feel free to edit since I don't fully understand the MOS of plays. Kailash29792 (talk) 14:38, 21 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Kailash29792: Bro even Chocolate Krishna by Crazy Mohan doesn't have enough sources. Both aren't notable. DareshMohan (talk) 16:46, 21 June 2026 (UTC)
- I think it should have an article as well. The Hindu most likely covered it extensively, searching for sources although many of their articles over 10 years old are dying. Kailash29792 (talk) 16:50, 21 June 2026 (UTC)
- Long back I tried searching for sources there was only sources on how many times it was staged and the fact that Maadhu Balaji appeared everytime the play was staged. DareshMohan (talk) 16:52, 21 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Kailash29792: Please take over Draft:Chocolate Krishna, I have no interest in the same. DareshMohan (talk) 22:42, 22 June 2026 (UTC)
- Just a heads up, Chocolate Krishna currently redirects to Crazy Mohan. DareshMohan (talk) 23:53, 23 June 2026 (UTC)
