DYK for Florida Hospital Oceanside
[edit]On 2 July 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Florida Hospital Oceanside, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Florida Hospital Oceanside was demolished after being damaged by Hurricane Irma? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Florida Hospital Oceanside. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Florida Hospital Oceanside), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

- @Redrose64: Please look at Template:WikiProject Ecuador; Template:WikiProject Georgia (country); Template:WikiProject Germany; Template:WikiProject Iran; Template:WikiProject Russia and Template:WikiProject United States. An unreferenced category is attached to every one of these categories. While the categories that I have created are not attached to any template. Catfurball (talk) 14:55, 23 August 2025 (UTC)

About userboxes
[edit]As you know, I recently made two userboxes for you (thanks for requesting). The thing I have an issue with is that you have added them to some userbox galleries without my agreement. This does not bother me significantly, but I would always appreciate it if you asked first. Not to only ask for permission, inherently, you could just let me know. Thanks in advance. 🫀 Crash // Organhaver (talk to me, maybe?) 05:22, 18 October 2025 (UTC)
- @Organhaver: It is not against Wikipedia policy, editors do it all the time. Sometimes a couple of years after the box was created, even from editors who have left Wikipedia. Catfurball (talk) 22:15, 4 November 2025 (UTC)

North British Railway
[edit]Please explain what you think is wrong with the article North British Railway, ideally by raising a thread on its talk page. Adding no fewer than twenty-six maintenance tags is bordering on disruptive editing. Since this is not a BLP, the verifiability policy requires references only for quotations and material that has been challenged or is likely to be challenged. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 16:56, 24 October 2025 (UTC)

Hi, please refer to Talk:Ferrero SpA#Merging WK Kellogg Co. The discussion was closed by an uninvolved editor as "merge". 162 etc. (talk) 22:05, 10 March 2026 (UTC)
- @162 etc.: The editor was wrong, only one editor voted as merge and four editors were against the merge. Catfurball (talk) 22:09, 10 March 2026 (UTC)
- @ScrubbedFalcon: Care to pipe in, please? 162 etc. (talk) 22:22, 10 March 2026 (UTC)
- Couple things. First, if you want to contest the close of a discussion, please follow our existing procedures for this. Just letting you know that I'm going to revert your removal of the merging templates from the relevant pages. Second, There were two editors in that discussion who explicitly supported the merge and made good arguments from policy for the merge and one other editor who made a similar observation to what I found in the close about deficits in the arguments to keep the articles separate. I am always open to reconsidering a close based on things I wasn't aware of or might have missed, but it won't be because of vote numbers or something like that (I saw them when I closed) and remember WP:NOTVOTE. ScrubbedFalcon (talk) 23:06, 10 March 2026 (UTC)
- @ScrubbedFalcon: I have found information that was missing from the article and also during my search I found many WP:RS talking about WK Kellogg Co. I even found some foreign websites talking about WK Kellogg Co, like the BBC and I also found some websites from Italy also talking about it. I have expanded the article with many of the WP:RS and replaced some of the references. I will continue to look for more information this week. Catfurball (talk) 20:42, 11 March 2026 (UTC)
- Hi, I'm still thinking about whether or not to reverse the close because I'm not sure that you've actually addressed the issues that I closed the discussion on, most of the edits are related to adding RS and improving the verifiability, but not the editorial reasons for the merge as I mentioned in the close. At the same time, the article is substantially different, so I'll give that some more thought today.I do have some concerns about what you've done here, could you explain the notifications to 13 editors about you contesting the close? I'm not seeing that all of them participated in the discussion and some of them are now replying in the closed discussion which seems inappropriate. ScrubbedFalcon (talk) 10:28, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
- @ScrubbedFalcon: That is your personal opinion that you did not like it that I sent messages to other editors, it is not against Wikipedia policy to do so. And I 100% disagree with you closing the discussion of WK Kellogg Co, due to your inexperience on Wikipedia, to me only two months of experience is not enough. Please read WP:BADNAC and I also suggest that you read WP:NOCONSENSUS, any editor would not have closed the discussion as merge, instead they would have closed it as WP:NOCONSENSUS. Catfurball (talk) 17:48, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
- I mentioned the notifications as possibly being inappropriate per WP:Canvassing, it wasn't clear to me what you were trying to achieve by drawing more attention to a closed discussion instead of discussing your concerns about the close with me directly. I also disagree that I'm not experienced enough to close merge discussions, but that's neither here nor there. I'll revert the close to a no-consensus on the grounds that the article is now materially different than the article that was being discussed and the discussion is a bit stale. I am a little frustrated that it seems like those are changes that could have been made to improve the article in the course of the discussion and not after the close to get the close reversed. But I am AGF and I'm glad that the article as it exists is at least better than when it was first put up for merging. ScrubbedFalcon (talk) 00:04, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
- The RfC was closed in favor of merging; I merged the pages and put an "under construction" tag on the pages while at work; meanwhile, WK Kellogg CO was substantially changed in order to revert the merge decision, my RfC-sanctioned edits were reverted, and this conversation happened on this user page without discourse from any other involved editors. I'm only here because catfurball came to my page respectfully asking if we could pause the merge while we discussed their page edits. I said that was fine and expected pings to take us (involved-in-the-RfC editors) back to Ferrero's page for a continuation of the discussion below the CLOSED RfC, only to see that the closed RfC had been altered due to information that changed on WK Kellogg AFTER the RfC had been closed. Then I went on an investigation journey moving from user talk pages to figure out where the discussion took place to change a closed RfC, which brings me here.
- @catfurball changed WK Kellogg after the RfC closed. This warrants a NEW discussion with involved editors, not a change in the CLOSED RFC. I can't even imagine the chaos if we started going back and reassessing then reverting closed RfC discussions using parameters that DIDN'T exist during the course of the actual discussion. pickalittletalkalittle🐤🐤🐤talk a lot pick a little more 14:10, 20 March 2026 (UTC)

Backlog updates
[edit]Hi. I wondered if you realised that you have been entering entirely incorrect numbers in the Backlog thread on WT:URA? For example, in your recent Special:Diff/1345851506, you entered 30,815. That thread is for reporting the number of articles in CAT:UNSOURCED, which, as I write this, currently stands at 32,647. Please can you stop adding incorrect totals to avoid spreading confusion? Cheers, SunloungerFrog (talk) 15:42, 28 March 2026 (UTC)
Avon (cosmetic company)
[edit]Hello Catfurball, I see you've tagged Avon (cosmetic company) for speedy deletion. That's fine; however, in my opinion, it's a useful redirect, and keeping it would make it easier for readers to find the article if they search using the keyword "Avon". Annh07 (talk) 16:28, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
- @Annh07: By ready the Avon Products article the company split up into two companies, currently the second company goes by the name The Avon Company. That is my reason for putting the g7 on it. Catfurball (talk) 16:34, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
- Okay, thank you for clarifying that. Annh07 (talk) 16:53, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
Adult and teen animation userbox sorting
[edit]Hi. Why did you revert the shows on Wikipedia:Userboxes/Television/Shows/Adult and teen animation to being organized by network? Having everything sorted by name seems more logical to me than having random exceptions. I wouldn't expect Rick and Morty to be in the A-G section. But I'm not familiar with userbox conventions so I'd appreciate you sharing your thought process. Thanks, ElToAn123 (talk) 07:19, 25 April 2026 (UTC)

"Citation needed" overdose
[edit]Hi Catfurball, I have been working through some railway station articles across the Farn North of Scotland. Every so often I come across your name in the edit history, adding CN tags and maintenance tags throughout the article/s. I note that you have been asked about this before User talk:Catfurball#North British Railway. I'm aware of the userbox {{User job well done}}, but I can't really understand the mind of a Wiki editor who wouldn't, maybe, look up the unreferenced information, or remove the "Original research", that you suggested was on the article Perth railway station (Scotland)? Cheerio, Mattdaviesfsic. Talk to me. 17:49, 14 June 2026 (UTC)
