Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. For an unblock to be considered, you must:

  • Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
  • State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
  • Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.

Request reason:

I have written a single article about a video game developer, a summary of their technology, and a list of games that have been released. I had cited sources from independent origins. The content of the page was no different to similar articles on other game developers, such as Nightdive Studios, M2 (game developer), or Digital_Eclipse. Without providing any constructive feedback you have instead immediately deleted the article and accused me - without any evidence - of receiving payment to write the article.

Accept reason:

With the consent of the blocking administrator, and after a deep investigation by me, I have lifted the block. I came to the firm conclusion that you do not have a conflict of interest (WP:COI) with regard to Implicit Converations, though I do agree with the blocking admin that the draft had all the hallmarks of paid editing. Please review WP:PROMO and WP:RS before proceeding. If you'd like your draft article restored (undeleted) and if you indicate you have read and firmly understood WP:PROMO and WP:RS, I'll be happy to reinstate it so you can make significant changes to the draft prior to submitting it via WP:AFC. Sorry for the problems, and welcome back! Yamla (talk) 19:42, 22 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, I appreciate that. Yes, if you could restore the article to the draft state then I will attempt to revise it to comply with WP:PROMO and WP:RS. Andshrew (talk) 20:01, 22 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Have you already read and firmly understood WP:PROMO and WP:RS? If so, happy to restore the draft. --Yamla (talk) 20:03, 22 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I have. Andshrew (talk) 21:25, 22 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Done, see Draft:Implicit Conversions. Remember, this draft is nowhere near ready for submission. Take all the time you need, there's no rush. :) --Yamla (talk) 21:28, 22 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Andshrew (talk) 21:42, 22 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

What exactly is your connection to Implicit Conversions? Do you count as a paid editor, as per WP:PAID? Remember, you may count as a paid editor even if you are not paid to write the article. --Yamla (talk) 15:50, 22 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I have no connection with them. I am writing this on my own accord based on having a personal interest in video games and video game emulation; I had simply noticed that they do not currently have an article and I thought it would be beneficial for them to be documented in the same way that similar video game companies already (of which I cited examples of in the above request reason). I had tried to write the article as factually as possible, stating who they are, what technology they use, and what games they have released. Andshrew (talk) 16:02, 22 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Jimfbleak: I did fairly extensive off-wiki research here (really extensive) and am pretty firmly convinced Andshrew is not an employee of Implicit Conversions but instead, someone strongly interested in the specific subject area. Obviously keeping in mind WP:OUTING, do you see something I missed? While their article wasn't appropriate, assuming they aren't a paid editor, I think it could probably be fixed via the Draft, AfC process. --Yamla (talk) 16:46, 22 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Yamla: I blocked because the article had all the hallmarks of a UPE (only edit, largely sourced to the company, symbols), but I'm happy to accept your assurances, feel free to unblock. Obviously some way off AFC though Jimfbleak - talk to me? 18:18, 22 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: Implicit Conversions (October 26)

[edit]
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reasons left by GreenRedFlag were:
This draft's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article. In summary, the draft needs multiple published sources that are:
Make sure you add references that meet all four of these criteria before resubmitting. Learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue. If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
This submission appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia. Encyclopedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed. This is important so that the article can meet Wikipedia's verifiability policy and the notability of the subject can be established. If you still feel that this subject is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, please rewrite your submission to comply with these policies.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.
