Annotated Bibliography and Article Outline

[edit]

@AidenMack:

I wasn’t able to read your annotated bibliography or article outline because they have not yet been published on Wikipedia! Not only will you be missing out on my feedback, but your classmates will also be unable to provide their inputs.

Please get these two pieces submitted as soon as possible. Once they’re finished, please either leave a note on my User talk page (User_talk:Bpettis) or send me an email directly.

Completed Annotated Bibliography and Article Outline

[edit]

@AidenMack:

I've now had a chance to read through your annotated bibliography (User:AidenMack/Big data/Bibliography) and your article outline (User:AidenMack/Big data/Outline)

Thanks for getting these pieces written and published. This is a good starting point, but there is still some additional research and planning work that you’ll need to do before you’re ready to start making some large-scale edits to your article

You currently only have 5 sources listed on your bibliography, and I’d like to see you locate at least 6; some of these can come from the original article, but since the current article has so few citations to begin with, a large part of your work will likely be finding sources to back up the claims in the article.

Your outline provides a general overview of your planned edits and which sections of the article that you are planning on reworking. However, your actual planned changes are a bit broad at this point. For example, how exactly do you plan to increase the length of the applications section? And what will you do to more clearly emphasize privacy and data security in the ethical issues section? This could involve just reworking what’s already written, but could also involve writing entirely new text. As you plan your specific edits, think about how you can apply each specific source that you have found throughout the article.

Finally, a word of caution: you note that you want to include more images and diagrams in the article. This can certainly improve the readability of a Wikipedia article, but be aware of the requirements/policies regarding media. Any images you include *must* be copyright-free. Be sure to complete the Wiki Edu training on images and media files (Contributing image and media files) to get an idea of how to contribute in this way.
