Simplicity in mathematics

Thanks for your comment on the cardinal numbers page. I see you are a mathematician. I am not, but I do like to understand maths. Unfortunately, all too often the mathematical topics in Wikipedia go into so much detail that the novice is left completely confused by massive in-depth examination of every minute detail. For all maths topics we need a simplified explanation, as if you were teaching a child of 7. Then we can have the more complex explanations that only a trained mathematician will understand. I agree that some of the articles can be confusing in their introduction. If I wasn't busy studying for a maths exam today, I'd have a closer look at the that article. Hopefully I'll remember later in the week. Infinite cardinal numbers are very interesting and I think they could help get more people interested in more advanced mathematics - but the difficulty is to find the best possible explanation. For example, I remember very amazed and very curious when studying how two infinite sets could be compared to each other and how we might decide that one is 'bigger' than the other.
