I am a retired professional writer. My undergraduate degree is in journalism, with a graduate degree in library and information studies. I spent 26 years as a tech writer for large software companies, primarily writing (but also editing) user instructions (in the form of software manuals, online help, online tutorials, user interfaces, error messages, tips, and so on). I also worked as a copy editor for web sites for over 20 years.
