I read the article [1] Bullying. The article is very relevant to everything dealing with the topic because it all stayed related to bullying and what bullying is, therefore none of the information distracted me. One thing that was missing from this article is examples of what bullying situations may look like, it stated how bullying may come across and the different types of bullying but did not state what may happen in a scenario.

I did not feel that anything from this article came across as biased. The article made sure to talk about both genders all genders and make sure that everyone knows that bullying could happen to them and not just one gender. They also gave many different definitions of what bullying is and not just one example. Also, when they gave examples of places bullying may occur such as a home or neighborhood, they didn't make it specifically in an area they know this may occur more in. Overall I felt this was a very non biased article.

The sources on the website are very reliable seeing as it was all from different sites that were also reliable and you can easily click on the different citations to see where the information was pulled from. All citations were newer and from sources that weren't biased. There were no conversations on this article.

Sandbox 2// Cultural Feminism

I chose the article [2] Cultural Feminism. All of the information in the article is relevant to what cultural feminism is and how it relates to other forms of feminism. It always gives great information on feminist ideas of cultural feminism. One area I believe that is underdeveloped in the article is how cultural applies to the world today and how people express cultural feminism. Something that is overdeveloped in the article is the section about cultural feminist ideas. I think we do need to know information about the past history, but it then took away from the present of cultural feminism.

The article is written neutrally because it involves a lot of different feminist ideas and doesn't talk poorly about the different ideas of feminism. It isn't biased toward any ideas of feminism.

Each claim does have a citation after every claim that is made. All the citations are reliable also seeing as they're up to date sources and they are related to the topic being discussed. Finally, they aren't individual websites, they are public.

Some things we can add are talking about current cultural feminism, what women do to protest cultural feminism, and how to get involved in cultural feminism.

ADD TO ARTICLE

In the first paragraph of the article there is not a claim talking about Brooke Williams and it does not have an attributed source. In the article Womens Culture and Lesbian Feminist Activism, [3] it talks about what Williams defines cultural feminism as.

First Draft

According to scholars cultural feminists began as radical feminists, but they separated from that group in the 1960s. [4] Cultural feminists lean toward the idea of having a lesbian identity, and they began to follow or borrow lesbian feminist ideas. These ideas and the group of cultural feminists date back to 1975 when Brooke Williams made the differences between cultural feminism and radical feminism. This created the group Redstockings, which according to scholars was a group of women who felt they should not be oppressed and reject the flaws of liberal activism. [5] This then lead to the idea that a male-dominated society was oppressive and flawed.

PEER REVIEWS

This article draws to one particular point of view which is that lesbian feminists did should separate from men or how women use men, but the article talked about how there are two different sides as to why these lesbian feminists feel the need to separate from these men. I don't feel that in writing this article they were trying to get the reader to specifically agree with one reason as to why women should separate from men, but I do feel like one viewpoint they were trying to get across is that women should separate from men. The writer did a good job of making all of the words written in their article very neutral and all of their phrases are also neutral. One claim they made toward an unnamed group was the term "butch". They did not clearly state what the terms butch meant and how it had to deal with separatist feminism. What they wrote is neither negative nor positive. I think it is both because they talk about how men are negative and how we should completely leave them, but it is positive because they talk about how men also have a positive impact on women and how we can utilize them. There was no un-sourced statements and they did properly source information where it should have been, making the statements all correctly sourced.

FINAL ARTICLE

Cultural feminism is the idea that men and women differ, such as women have a more gentle and nurturing essence to them. According to the article, "Cultural Feminism" [6] it was developed from the idea of radical feminism. Cultural feminism is focused on the idea of the positive aspects women bring to this world. Some of the virtues theorist Jane Addams and Charlotte Perkins Gilman suggested women had were cooperative, caring, and non violent. These three characteristics set a great example around the definition of cultural feminism, the idea that women are those kind of people and men are on a whole different spectrum. When did cultural feminism first start though?

According to Though Co, cultural feminism first started in 1975. [7] Brooke Williams was the women to break off of radical feminism and start cultural feminism. When cultural feminism had first begun they had also been linked to lesbian identity and stole some of lesbian feminists ideas. Cultural feminists worked to build a women's culture, according to Land Field. [8] These feminists worked very hard to be active and help in many different social issues. Overall these women were know to be nurturing and caring people who worked for social change.

SUMMARY

In my final article I added a lot of new information about cultural feminism. Some of the new information I added was information about what cultural feminists worked to improve and how they had became a group. In my group I focused on the history of cultural feminism and how they formed and who had a big role in the creation of this type of feminism. All in all I added more information about the history of cultural feminism and how it broke off from radical feminism.
