Hi I'm Hobbitina. I like adding more detail to articles and occasionally writing new ones. I want to help improve wikipedia's coverage of people and topics that the encyclopedia has tended to neglect.
As I was checking PageViews this May, I realized it wasn't showing recent data -- when I checked if people knew why, I stumbled upon a big controversy (Wikipedia:Village pump (WMF) § WMF Community Tech team has been disbanded, engineers laid off) that I'd somehow totally missed: the Wikimedia Foundation had suddenly laid off the team who supported the tool. Also, staff at the foundation have been attempting to unionize, and the layoff is potentially related (my opinion: yes). If you want to support the staff, you can stand in solidarity.
