[edit]Thattayil is famous for the Orippurathu Bhagavathy temple. Mannathu Padmanabhan started the Nair Service Society Karayogam movements in this village. Thattayil has NSS Karayogam Numbers 1 (Edamaly/Mallika) and 2 (Bhagavathickum Padinjare).[citation needed]
