Adding any sort of TfM/TfD notice breaks pages where the template is transcluded. This is the smallest version of the notice, afaik. Without the notice, most people who might care to comment at the Tfm might not even realize that it is in progress.
I'm not sure why the short description is using a template, but there must have been a good reason for it at the time. WikiCleanerMan would have some idea of how long TfM's usually last, but I would guess 2 weeks. So, this is a temporary issue. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 05:11, 18 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
The short description uses the template because it is built by the infobox based on the parameters provided to the infobox. The relevant parameter uses the template. The infobox is not smart enough to recognize that the "See TfM" bit should not be used. — LucasBrown05:22, 18 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Please remove the TfD template since I have closed it as merge (I don't think any notice is needed at the top of this, since the others are being merged to this) HurricaneZetaC16:42, 24 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I do not agree with the rough merging of Template:PRC into Template:CHN. “People’s Republic of China”, as its official name, is widely used across various contexts on Wikipedia. Moreover, there is already a template named “China” that can be used freely. However, merging templates solely based on personal preference would unnecessarily restrict editors’ flexibility in usage. I believe both of these templates are necessary to exist. In addition, the previous discussion involved only a small number of participants and did not sufficiently reflect broad consensus, overall, it appeared rather hasty. I suggest reopening the discussion and seeking further input. Mayo Crim (talk) 21:56, 21 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]
