Queen Mother
[edit]It has been 5 years since the Queen Mother's death. Should her warrants be kept here? User:Barliner

- Errr.... yeah. I was just about to say the same thing. --Mais oui! 10:28, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, they should be removed. The warrants have now expired. --Breadandcheese 03:50, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
- The Queen Mother's warrant are still important aren't they? Why don't we include hers, but mention that they expired in 2007? Something a bit like this:

- What d'ya think? --DWRtalk 19:47, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- As they expired, why not make a separate template especially for those? But it beats me why a reader would want to navigate amongst a list of former warrant holders in the footers of articles, rather than click on a link to Royal Warrant in the article. --Hroðulf (or Hrothulf) (Talk) 09:38, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

Changed lead article
[edit]I have changed the lead article from Royal Warrant to List of Royal Warrant holders of the British Royal Family, as I think that is what readers are more likely to expect while navigating a WP:series. --Hroðulf (or Hrothulf) (Talk) 11:44, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
I am working on cleaning up the Twinings page...I don't find the content of this template to be very relevant to that page--a template describing brands of tea, for example, would be more relevant. Do you think we should cut down the size of the template? Or should we leave the template as-is and just remove it from that page? I'd prefer removing it from that page, and leaving the template as-is, but I wanted to check here first. Cazort (talk) 17:07, 11 September 2009 (UTC)
Elizabeth II and Prince Philip
[edit]Now it has been over two years since the deaths of both Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, as well as since the accession of Charles III, should we consider removing their warrants from the template? Both the royal warrant article and the Royal Warrant Holders Association website state that the warrant itself expires upon the grantor's death and that the holder is permitted to display the arms for a further two years. It would also mean that the template is a more manageable size, especially considering the Prince and Princess of Wales are expected to announce their own grants later this year. - I have decided to be bold and change this myself, it doesn't make sense to include holders of expired warrants when we don't also include those for other previous grantors. Csexton345 (talk) 17:20, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
