Doctor Who episode count note

[edit]

I think a note is necessary to let people know that not all episodes are included (Shada) to avoid confusion and misuse of the episode count displayed on this page. Spectritus (talk) 10:18, 27 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Definition of the "Whoniverse" brand and what falls under its umbrella

[edit]

This article isn't clear about its content. I know we've had this page since 2006, but the "Whoniverse" as an umbrella brand was created in 2023. The page and the overall content seem to describe anything Doctor Who related, even "Independent Video Drama", but they do not fall under the current "Whoniverse" franchise created in 2023. And to give you another important example, neither does the 2010 K9 show.

Yes, we associate K9 with Doctor Who, but the show itself isn't part of the Whoniverse as it wasn't produced by the BBC, nor it is acknowledged in any way in other media.

In my opinion, we should split this article in two halves (not necessarily different articles), but officially licensed Whoniverse media and the rest which aren't part of the official 2023 Whoniverse brand but have something Doctor Who related in them.

And, in addition to this, there is no mention of audio dramas, mainly Big Finish who've had the benefit of using the official license of Doctor Who and its spin-offs, yet we mention BBV productions in this article. Tiplica (talk) 10:33, 3 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
