The characters name is Token

The idea that this is a true “retcon” is absurd. The character refers to himself as Token in the episode where he makes a reality TV show about morbidly obese Cartman and his new Rascal scooter. His show “Fatty Poo Poo” is clearly stated to be a “Token Black Production”. The joke is the retcon itself. Whether the name is Token or Tolkien just depends on how far the joke is taken, and we're talking about South Park, so there is no telling.
