Kurdish on the infobox
[edit]I don't see the point of adding Kurdish to the English article, even so its the second most talked language in Syria, we dont see this in mostly any other country. ~2026-13754-09 (talk) 23:17, 2 March 2026 (UTC)
- Yes, but Kurdish is recognized as a national language, see RfC above. Syria is not Turkey, and Syria is not Iraq. NeoSyria\Freedoxm (talk · contribs) 02:10, 3 March 2026 (UTC)
- It has been recognised as a co-official language by President Ahmed al-Shaara. Why shouldn't it be in the infobox then?
- In my opinion, Kurdish should be included, starting with the Kurdish name of the Syrian Arab Republic: Komara Erebî ya Sûriyê. JohnMcEwan20 (talk) 05:34, 19 April 2026 (UTC)
- see this RfC, there was no consensus. Until then, Kurdish will not belong on the top of the infobox until I can start a new RfC to clarify everything. NeoSyria\Freedoxm (talk · contribs) 05:37, 19 April 2026 (UTC)
- Noted. JohnMcEwan20 (talk) 05:47, 19 April 2026 (UTC)

Hatay
[edit]Why is it still mentioed if there is no claim? Also it's not Hatay province as whole, but like 3/4. There were few districts added to Hatay after its annexation. Beshogur (talk) 12:54, 3 April 2026 (UTC)
- It's still mentioned because the status of Hatay's relinquishment is unclear; So far, the government has implied that it doesn't claim Hatay via new governmental agency logos, but the government hasn't made a formal announcement declaring relinquishment. NeoSyria\Freedoxm (talk · contribs) 05:39, 19 April 2026 (UTC)
- @NeoSyria: how many regime changes did Syria have since Turkey annexed Hatay? I don't think there is like any dispute or a claim right now. If it's unclear, it shouldn't be on the infobox. Misleading information. Beshogur (talk) 14:24, 26 April 2026 (UTC)
- @NeoSyria: you're literally edit warring over WP:OR.
there's something there, as implied by the map
is not a valid reason. Revert it and avoid further drama. Beshogur (talk) 12:06, 26 May 2026 (UTC)- It is not "edit-warring", I haven't reverted twice within 24 hours, therefore, I won't be reverting it. However, if you revert after some time, I won't revert back again. NeoSyria\Freedoxm (talk · contribs) 18:54, 26 May 2026 (UTC)
- I mean it's still edit warring. It's literally original research. Isn't Golan heights de jure Syrian territory? Hatay is de jure Turkish territory[1] and there is no indication that Syria still claims it. Beshogur (talk) 23:13, 26 May 2026 (UTC)
