Can someone please provide a 'context' map? 95% of readers don't want to know the relative positions of Northeast Cay and West York Island, they want to know where in the hell these islands are!

I don't know when exactly this map was made but it must be after 1843 because Thanh Hoá 清化 is on the map. Before 1843 it's called Thanh Hoa 清華 (source official Nguyễn dynasty history: Đại Nam thực lục Vol 32). --KomradeRice (talk) 18:48, 12 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't followed this topic for ages so maybe just out of date. However in regards to the current paragraph in the article.
Majority of hostile acts in the territory have come from China, as reported by multiple verified international news and independent media.[119][120] Chinese aggression have increased rapidly in the last few decades, forcing multiple countries to pushback, both diplomatically and militarily. Various fishing boats have been harassed by Chinese warships, of which those boats were from nationals of Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, Taiwan, Brunei, Vietnam, and the Philippines, all of which have made push-backs against China's aggressive territorial acts.
I read the sources and cannot find anything suggesting that Chinese warships have harrassed boats (around disputed Spratley) from from nationals of (Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, Taiwan, Brunei.) If there is sources for that info, be great if you could add it in.
Only the approx 3 given sources describe a Chinese fishing boat ramming a Filipino fishing boat, and also a Chinese coast guard ramming a Vietnamese fishing boat. (2 incidents total) That doesn't strike me as China mostly ramming or sinking 'most' or 'many' other ships on a daily basis like previous edit was implying.
The paragraph just seems like original research (OR) which is frowned upon. As the given sources doesn't really say all that info in the paragraph. So either add in better sources or that paragragh needs to be fixed to reflect the information in sources more faithfully. Destinyseeker89 (talk) 02:52, 8 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
There are tons of local news about Chinese warship/fishing boat harass Vietnam, Malaysia & Filipino fishing boat every day/week/month which never really make it into international news because it never be "that bad" to be talked about.
And there are videos of Chinese's giant ship using water canon basically hosing down to the small fishing boat with normal citizen on it. Those vids dated back to 2014 and still update more and more on Youtube until now.
The response is to a comment which was previously stricken, and I can't find the para at issue in the current article version. Also, the respondent is apparently unaware of WP:V. I've stricken the response. Wtmitchell(talk) (earlier Boracay Bill) 19:14, 10 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hoang Sa and Truong Sa belongs to Vietnam, Trash article of China
The article distorts history baselessly and misdirects public opinion, Why did their feudal China not control and exercise sovereignty over Hoang Sa and Truong Sa, but they still have fabricated maps created by they created??? Vietnam has all the legal and historical evidence to prove that the 9-dash line and 2 archipelagos belong to Vietnam, China in the Qing Dynasty only had its southern pole Hainan Island, And why is China's sovereignty legal? rate??? They invaded Vietnam 1974 in Hoang Sa, and 1988 in Changsha and there is no reason for them to stop expanding outside, Stupid author only knows Get money from China to create bullshit PhamHoangThạch (talk) 01:51, 12 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest to change 'Grierson Reef' on the table to 'Sin Cowe East Island'. They are the same, just different name. You can refer to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grierson_Reef for more information.
The thing is, when you search Grierson Reef on Google map, it will direct you to a place which is close but not the Island itself. If you search for Sin Cowe East Island, it will direct you to the island itself. Huuthohna (talk) 22:42, 16 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
