Editing Plan
[edit]As a student of a Technical and Professional Editing class at Texas A&M University, I wanted to give a brief overview of the main edits I plan on making before I make any major changes.
- Move the "Identifying students or learners with special needs" section to the end of the article because it feels like more of an application to me, and I don't want it to be lost in the middle of the article.
- Move the "Criticism" section to the end as well for the same reasoning as above.
- I'd like to edit a few sentences throughout the article, especially in the lead section and "Individual needs" sections, to be more concrete and specific. The vague tone that appears in sentences like "After the law was updated into the Disabilities Education Improvement Act, the ability to identify special needs children and give them the appropriate education environment was improved." could introduce NPOV violations.
- The "Impact" section is way too short. I'd like to either add this small paragraph to another section or add more substantial information.
- I'll also scan the document more thoroughly for WP:V violations. Askew.ashlyn (talk) 15:59, 19 February 2026 (UTC)
- I have completed editing for this project, so I wanted to provide a brief summary of the changes I made and some edits that could be made moving forward.
- I moved the sections I mentioned in the above Talk post to the end of the article for better flow, did some copyediting, and made a few edits to help avoid issues with NPOV or things like that. I deleted the Impact section altogether, but that's one thing I would suggest changing moving forward- someone could add an Impact section if it seems crucial. I rewrote the History section because it was being flagged as being plagiarized, so another editor could research and add more information to the section. In the National approaches section, someone could either add information to the countries that are lacking information or take away some from the countries that seem to have excessive information.
