Intended Edits for this Article
[edit]Hello! I will be editing this article for a technical editing class at Texas A&M University, before I fully start working on the article, I wanted to share some of the edits I will be working on:
- Dividing up the History section into more subsections to improve organization.
- Rewriting the subculture section to ensure it follows Wikipedia's encyclopedic style.
- Adding sources to certain sections (Flips and Rotations) and making sure there are no issues with sourcing.
- Rewriting the Lead Section to better align with overall article content.
- Fixing any major copyediting issues that I find throughout the editing process.
I will be creating a sandbox first to test various major changes done to the article and strengthen implementation. If anyone is currently working on this article and has any feedback and advice, please let me know and I would love to follow/implement it. Thanks! SNos2005 (talk) 16:30, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
- Hello! I have concluded the edits I have set out to make for this project and have made some additional edits as well. I rewrote the lead and subculture sections, reorganized the history, injuries, and safety sections, and made updates to the infobox, NPOV edits, and updated certain sources.
- One thing I did notice while working on this article was a lot of damaged sources. Verifying the sources and making any future NPOV work would be the next step for this article. Thank you and I would appreciate any feedback on my contributions.

Sources for unsourced glossary terms
[edit]The "Parts of a snowboard," "Rotations," "Flips," and "Off-axis rotations" sections in this article are flagged as needing sources. I can offer some from a snowboarding learning resource I help run, Progresspedia — full disclosure, I'm involved with the site, so I'll just leave the suggestions here rather than editing the article myself. Progresspedia is a democratic, open learning platform: anyone can read, comment, vote, and suggest edits to articles, similar in spirit to Wikipedia. The site has prose definitions for the following terms:
Heel Edge — https://progresspedia.org/courses/snowboarding/heel-edge-turns/
Toe Edge — https://progresspedia.org/courses/snowboarding/toe-edge-turns/
Frontside Rotation — https://progresspedia.org/courses/snowboarding/frontside-180/ ("the first 90 degrees of the spin opens your chest out toward the downhill valley")
Backside Rotation — https://progresspedia.org/courses/snowboarding/backside-180/ ("a spin where your back rotates toward the downhill side")
I don't have coverage on the site for Binding, Nose Edge, Tail Edge, Back Flip, Front Flip, Tamedog, Wildcat, Cork, or Rodeo — those would still need sources from elsewhere. Happy for editors to use, ignore, or replace these as they see fit. Renetho112 (talk) 13:01, 8 May 2026 (UTC)
- As discussed on another talk page, this is a community generated site and should not be used as a citation. MrOllie (talk) 13:14, 8 May 2026 (UTC)
