The Longest Reigning Monarch in Nigeria
[edit]The longest reigning monarch in Nigeria is Oba James Adelusi Aladesuru II, the Onigede of Igede Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria. Oba Aladesuru II was enthroned and crowned as king on 26th June, 1959 at the age of 26 years (born in August 3 1933) isn't Oba Sikiru Adetona as claimed
Oba James Adelusi Aladesuru is still alive, hale and hearty as the paramount ruler of Igede-Ekiti kingdom in Ekiti state where Yeye Osun was born. Yeye Osun would later be wife to the third Alaafin Oyo, Alaafin Sango. After the demise of Alaafin Sango, Yeye Osun came back home (Igede-Ekiti) to slug it out with her other siblings namely Ogbese, Elemi, Orunro, Okunsusi, and others, over rulership tussle on who becomes the king after the death of their father, Ake- a Prince of Ile-Ife. Ake was husband to Erindo who came with him alongside their servant, Awota, from Ile-Ife. So, and having set that background, the world should know the fact about someone who has reigned for 66 years, and still counting. That person is the ebullient and handsome Royal Majesty, Oba James Adelusi Aladesuru II, petu bi owuro, the Onigede of Igede Ekiti from Okiribiti ruling house.
