Date of birth
[edit]A birthdate of 28 August 1985 is well-sourced, but an editor changed this article to say 23 July 1985 after reportedly seeing this date on the funeral order of service. This edit has been reverted but we do have some confusion to work through.
- Buller Rugby has 23 July on Christie's profile page and 1News says "Close friend Craig Moore said Christie was born on July 23, 1985 in Palmerston North".
- Rugby Database and super.rugby have 23 September 1985.
I don't know how to proceed here.

- Given these conflicting sources, it might pay to put only the year of birth, ie 1985, and have an html hidden note mentioning this talk page discussion.-Gadfium (talk) 23:13, 3 September 2025 (UTC)
- 23rd July date was on his NZ Maori page 13 years back, i remember it, one has to assume that would be the most reliable source apart from the one that was used during his funeral, i know WP:OR is frowned upon but getting the original D.O.B from a person's funeral service should be allowed....personally reading up on his facebook page (he was very active in the political scene), he was very active days prior to this death, he was assaulted by two Nelson City Council staff on the 25th, his body was found on the early hours of 27th August so its not necessary that he died that day, could have been a day earlier and if he was assaulted which he claims in that video, an injury to the head could cause his death hours later (bit similar to maybe how Bob Saget died).. 27.123.172.40 (talk) 03:13, 4 September 2025 (UTC)
