I'm new here, and wondering if there's a rule governing my issue. There are some things that need clearing up in the early part of the article having to do with Maxwell's transition from the Continent to England and from birth name Ján Hoch, to alias Leslie Du Maurier and finally to Robert Maxwell, the name he eventually adopted legally as a war veteran. Should "Maxwell" be referred to as "Maxwell" from the beginning, rather than as whatever name he wore when he was walking the earth pre-Maxwell? Seems to me he should be placed in time as he would were we talking about his childhood, when we would scarcely want to refer to him yet as "Maxwell." Thanks for any help provided. --Jhoughton1 (talk) 19:30, 22 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
He should be referred as Maxwell, as well in similar other cases are done in Wikipeda, and the article's name is also concluding that.(KIENGIR (talk) 16:29, 25 June 2020 (UTC))[reply]
For English language tongues the name Jan Hoch does not work because it is pronounced similar to Yan Hokh. If you want to be in business that's not good. For those who wonder where Maxwell had his seed capital from: He was part of the administration by the occupational forces in the West Berlin Sectors. [Attached to the Foreign Office, he served in Berlin during the next two years in the press section.] Paper for newspapers had to be rationed and this made Maxwell powerful person. 2001:8003:A070:7F00:4180:F9F:23F0:4D31 (talk) 05:20, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This is the English language wikipedia, I would say head it under the name he finally adopted. After all, he became a British national and changed his name by deed poll (as we would now call it in short) years before he became a Member of the British Parliament, during which his new name was invariably used in official reports etc.Cloptonson (talk) 06:38, 22 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The source you cite mentions this in passing: "While the rest of her siblings accepted Robert Maxwell's death was either an accident or suicide, his youngest daughter insisted he must have been murdered." That's all it says on the subject. No further explanation. This is an article about Robert Maxwell, not 'things said by his daughter' that merit no further comment in sources. If they aren't interested, then neither are we. Wikipedia articles are summaries, content is included when on-topic, and justified by meaningful coverage. Not much to go on. Nothing of substance, just Ghislaine's assertions, for which she provides no evidence. Assertions that nobody seems to take seriously. AndyTheGrump (talk) 01:01, 1 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
This appears to be undue, particularly as the siblings disagree with their child sex offender sister. Ghissy's comments carry little weight now. Twas ever the same, and time passing doesn't change that. - WalterStill not in the Epstein Files Ego21:24, 3 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
OK. Ok....
'Regardless of what she did, she is still Roberts daughter. And her perspective matters here. You can't write a section on the death of somebody without mentioning their own children's view on it! 🥤Spravato!🍒/🧋22:22, 3 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree, particularly as all the other offspring did not agree with Gissy's views. - WalterStill not in the Epstein Files Ego23:00, 3 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Ok fine, we can include the other siblings statements too. But Ghislaine's still belongs here, because she is the daughter of Robert, so her comment should have weight in the discussion 🥤Spravato!🍒/🧋01:23, 4 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I meant that if your argument is abt the other siblings disagreeing then we can include their's and Ghislaine's. Still you have to admit that Ghislaine's statement has weight. 🥤Spravato!🍒/🧋06:42, 4 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
But that isn't what my point is. I cannot see why I have to admit anything. - WalterStill not in the Epstein Files Ego06:54, 4 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
