Title: ought the title be Bristol Revunions rather than simply Revunions? Given the article uses the term Bristol Revunions as both the official title and the logo, this seems it should be the case. Becsh (talk) 03:01, 4 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it should, but I don't know how to do this! Sophie22Elizabeth (talk) 22:22, 19 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The page appears to have been moved originally from Bristol Revunions in the first place, citing the precedent of the Cambridge Footlights (see link).
Would you still like it to be moved, given that a year has passed without action since you put in the COI flag? MantelumLucis (talk) 18:33, 5 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I'd like it to be moved back to 'Bristol Revunions' as that is the official name and it's harder to identify without it. Sophie22Elizabeth (talk) 14:21, 19 June 2026 (UTC)[reply]

  • What I think should be changed:

1) I think the last sentence of the 'History' section should be replaced with: "Since then, the group annually takes shows to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and performs its material in Bristol, often performing with their sister society Bristol Improv; and other university sketch societies like the Leeds Tealights, Cambridge Footlights, Oxford Revue and Manchester Revue." This should include page links to any pages held by those groups.

2) A small addition to the first sentence of the page, which should read: "Bristol Revunions, more commonly Revunions, or Revs is a sketch comedy student society at the University of Bristol."

3) The Presidents list should be reinstated and updated under the 'Structure' section: "List of Presidents The following members have led the society since it was reformed in 2008.

2008-10 - Charlie Perkins 2010-11 - Jamie Demetriou 2011-12 - Matt Lister 2012-13 - Ollie Jones-Evans 2013-14 - Pete Simpson 2014-15 - Will Blok 2015-16 - Louis Dawson Jones 2016-17 - Flora Donald 2017-18 - Isabel Kilborn 2018-19 - Ted Milligan 2019-20 - Matthew Wilson 2020-21 - Cecilia Orr 2021-22 - Jack Bercovici 2022-23 - Ed Daniels 2023-24 - Kat Treasure 2024-26 - Fred Wright 2026-27 - Sophie Virgin-Elliston"

  • Why it should be changed:

1) Bristol Revunions performs at the Edinburgh Fringe consistently every year, which is quite a feat to organise and achieve and this should be recognised. The current phrasing 'a series of shows' implies that this was for a short period of time that has since ended - this is not the case. Revunions' close link to other university societies should be listed as they often perform with them at venues across the country. The current wording implies that Revunions is limited to the Bristol area which is not true and diminishes the work of the Revunions to get their name more widely known.

2) 'Revs' is the most commonly used name for the society, more than Revunions. This will confirm to users that they are in the right place and that Bristol Revunions is Revs.

3) The list has always been on the page (until last month) and is viewed fondly by the Revunions, it is deemed as a right of passage for the new Presidents to be added to the list. It is also the reference point for the Revunions records of this. It was removed as the list was deemed 'non-notable', however I would argue that this is subjective and not true - for example, amongst their other achievements, Charlie Perkins is the Head of Comedy at Channel 4 and Jamie Demetriou has won 3 BAFTAs.
