There's a link to "The Rockafeller Skank" which goes to Fatboy Slim's song? Why is this on the page?

Self-referential song example

[edit]

“The Song That Doesn’t End” does not quote its lyrics, it simply repeats them. These are not the same. I don’t know an example of a song that does quote its own lyrics, but to do so in a way to make an endless sing would be recursive. TSTDE is the simplest and purest form of a repetitive song. 70.126.199.39 (talk) 04:02, 20 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Original research

[edit]

This article is fascinating but it seems to be original research. The original points are cited but none of the citations are to coverage of the overall category of "repetitive song". I have the impression that the original author of the article in 2009 drew together material from various sources to create a new theoretical construct. However, there probably is a musicological literature about "repetitive songs" - it just isn't cited here. Llajwa (talk) 01:11, 1 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I looked through JSTOR real quick and I don't see anything that suggests "repetitive song" is more than an adjective applied to a noun. Drmies (talk) 14:16, 2 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
