Notable?

[edit]

This is a 3D rendered video with a level of photorealism not seen since... about 2001. No keel has been laid, no order has been placed this does not exist and is not radically different from other "cargo sailboats" conceptualized at different points of the last decade - the only purpose of the wiki article seems to be to help their marketing for the concept?

???

[edit]

Haven't sailing ships been used for centuries? Why reinvent the wheel? 2603:7080:7602:110:21CA:A43:335:3D1C (talk) 21:47, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

4 or 5 'sails'?

[edit]

The picture shows five large upright structures. The article refers to 'wingsails' and 'masts'. The General Characteristics box says "Propulsion: Wind-assisted propulsion, four sails".

Are there to be 4 of 5? And is the correct term for them 'wingsails', 'sails' or 'masts'? SandJ-on-WP (talk) 18:21, 18 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

DBA?

[edit]

The first sentence says "Oceanbird is the DBA for Alfawall Oceanbird AB". What is a DBA? (I know it is not DataBase Administrator or Doctor of Business Administration. The suggestions in the Urban Dictionary are very unlikely!) Design Basic Accident? Is it some sort of sailing jargon? SandJ-on-WP (talk) 21:29, 5 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Most likely "doing business as", though the syntax is wrong; normally seen in format "Alfawall Oceanbird AB, dba Oceanbird"' better alternative would be "Oceanbird is the trading name of Alfawall Oceanbird AB". - Davidships (talk) 22:25, 5 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
