Non-apology apology → Non-apology – The simple word "non-apology" is the most common word used here: Google Scholar provides 1,270 results for "non-apology" as opposed to 189 results for "non-apology apology". The only major dictionary I am aware of which carries this word, Merriam-Webster, also only calls it a "non-apology". ―Howard • 🌽33 20:18, 12 November 2025 (UTC)
- Also, not technically a valid argument here, but saying "non-apology apology" out loud just sounds weird. I suppose WP:CONCISE also applies. ―Howard • 🌽33 20:20, 12 November 2025 (UTC)
- Support per nom. This usage is already reflected in the article and several of the references. (And the article can be cleaned up to simply usage in several places where "non-apology apology" is used after the lead.) —Myceteae🍄🟫 (talk) 21:01, 12 November 2025 (UTC)
- Support: The current title does indeed sound a little off. The proposed title is 100 times simpler. Thanks, 1isall (he/him) (talk | contribs) 21:02, 12 November 2025 (UTC)
- Weak support. "Non-apology apology" seems like a clearer name for this, to me; the person isn't just making a statement (like "I don't care about that") that isn't in any way an apology, they're making something that appears to be an apology. But if this is a more common term for the concept, we should use it. --Belbury (talk) 11:49, 13 November 2025 (UTC)
- Support per nom. -- Necrothesp (talk) 11:21, 14 November 2025 (UTC)
- Support per nom. WP:COMMONNAME applies here. Also, again while not a valid argument, the current title is definitely strange sounding. – LuniZunie ツ(talk) 18:41, 16 November 2025 (UTC)
- Comment: The current title may have been chosen for symmetry with Non-denial denial. — BarrelProof (talk) 17:00, 17 November 2025 (UTC)
