Shadow squadron,

I served at 228 OCU Leeming as a Radar technician, the Javelins we worked on had a blue circle on the tail- plane fin, on which was a black horses head with a silver mane. We were told it was the insignia of 137 squadron ,our shadow squadron number. We thought it was a bit of mischief by the air ministry ,being "the dark horses". ~2026-15135-51 (talk) 19:57, 9 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]
