Move

[edit]

Move it to "PowerPoint" since everyone knows it’s owned by Microsoft and never calls it "Microsoft PowerPoint". Just "PowerPoint" is by far the most common name for it. 2A02:C7C:847D:400:85F7:AD31:45A8:2527 (talk) 16:37, 20 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Missing and possible incorrect versions.

[edit]

The last release listed in the table is PowerPoint 2019 and version 17.0

2018 PowerPoint 2019 17.0 Windows and other OS

Microsoft has not changed the major number of the version release since 2016.

Since then there has been the release of PowerPoint 2021 and PowerPoint 365.

The version available currently is 16.0.16130.20766 for 2021 and 365. Today is 20 Sep 2023 72.19.162.23 (talk) 21:19, 20 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Most of the cultural reactions section should be moved to either Slide show or Presentation program

[edit]

The vast, vast majority of the cultural reactions in the article are not PowerPoint the program but the use of slideshows as a whole. Nearly all of cultural reactions section should be in either slideshow or Presentation program. I say Slide show because most of the reactions are not even about the use of presentation software but the use of slideshows. Leonard LMT (talk) 20:21, 2 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with this, even if a good amount of the text mentions PowerPoint by name.  novov talk edits 08:29, 17 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose merge. Most of the relevant text appears (to me at least) to talk specifically about PowerPoint, and a quick glance at the sources in that section (or at least their titles) reveals that they tend to focus on PowerPoint as well. I would not be opposed to the creation of a general cultural reactions section for the slideshow article, but I believe that different sources would be needed to accomplish that effectively.
