Pi day issue

  • Worldwide - Pi Day, a celebration of the constant 3.14.

Surely this is North American rather than worldwide, and also Pi is not exactly 3.14? In most of the world the date is denoted is 14/3/year, not 3/14/year. International Pi day would be 31 April, or 22 July (22/7 is over 10 times as accurate as a 3 s.f. decimal expansion) Lone_nut 86.144.254.142

Err...there's no such thing as April 31. Fool. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.225.1.161 (talk) 15:16, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

We list national holidays/observances here. Whether this constitutes an "observance" for the purposes of this article, I'm not certain. At least it's national in scope. Rklawton 23:06, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
Not claiming it isn't a substantial observance, just whether it's 'worldwide' or not. The article lists several days called Pi Day, and it would seem odd if a worldwide community had standardised on the north american date format and recommending we change the word 'worldwide' to 'North America'
That's a really good point. We should look back to the article and use it as our guide. Rklawton 23:18, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Events on this day

Albert Einstein's birthday is listed as an 'event' (as well as a birth) and includes a less than impartial description. I think it should be removed from events, the 'Births' entry is perfectly adequate.

March 14th is also National Registered Dietitian day. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.87.252.28 (talk) 23:55, 24 February 2012 (UTC)

Steak and a BJ Day

The article exists, but does not support its inclusion here. I can't see any of the criteria for inclusion here that apply. The article even says "satirical" Should be deleted. Richardson mcphillips (talk) 18:33, 13 March 2018 (UTC)

Saints on this day

http://www.catholic-forum.com/saints/saintp3w.htm says that St Paulina's feast day is July 9.

Grace Park

This page lists her as Korean-Canadian, while following the link displays her as an "American-born Canadian actress." So what is she? American or Canadian? Aren't "encyclopedias" supposed to clear on such things? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.220.193.142 (talk) 17:52, 27 September 2010 (UTC)

I removed the "of Korean descedent(sic)" part, Canadian actress is enough, no need to refer to ethnicity. According to imdb she considers herself Canadian. Thanks for pointing this out. Winston365 (talk) 23:30, 27 September 2010 (UTC)

Edit request on 15 March 2012

Congratulations on your child, proud parent of Jackson James Dean. Unfortunately, "The births and deaths listed on this page are only for people for whom there is a Wikipedia article (no redirects). Please do not add yourself, or anyone without a Wikipedia article. Any entry added for anyone without an article will be deleted. " Please remove that entry entirely, it's at the bottom of births. 76.204.123.119 (talk) 02:36, 15 March 2012 (UTC)

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format. — {{U|Technical 13}} (etc) 02:29, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
