episode count
[edit]there are 2 episode 233s73.170.138.18 (talk) 20:50, 4 March 2019 (UTC)
Where is the bonus episode with Bhaskar Sunkara that came out about 10 months ago? It's not listed at all, even though his name is mentioned in the intro. Cultstudmugged (talk) 00:09, 24 July 2019 (UTC)
Episode 701 and 707 (possibly more) are duplicates, meaning all subsequent episodes have faulty numbering. Given numbers (column 2) are unaffected. SjoerdJB (talk) 02:09, 27 August 2023 (UTC)
Hosts Present column
[edit]Does it makes sense to add a column for the host that are present for each episode? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.124.124.66 (talk) 16:55, 9 June 2020 (UTC)
The page blew past Wikipedia's post expansion include size limit. As an emergency fix, I globally replaced all occurrences of {{TableTBA|—|N/A}} with —<!--{{TableTBA|—|N/A}}-->.
I also posted a note at Template talk:TableTBA#Consider making this a module suggesting that a module version be made and tested to see if it gets around this problem.
Editors are welcome to - make that encouraged to - undo my edit in combination with other changes, provided the end result is a page that does not exceed Wikipedia's technical limitations. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 14:06, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
Page should probably be split - references aren't showing up
[edit]It's exceeding the post expansion include size limit for templates.
As a result, references are not showing up. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 🎄 15:09, 22 December 2020 (UTC)
Completeness
[edit]After sporadically adding some missing bonus episodes etc. in the past, I finally went through the entire Soundcloud and Patron feeds to get a complete episode tally: ~124 episodes are missing from this list. I made this (very messy) spreadsheet for reference ([1]), and also included all the Soundcloud and Patreon links still missing, so every episode can finally be cited. All the missing entries are marked in red. Some premium episodes that were later unlocked still need to have their link updated.
The biggest issue with this is the dedicated series and were to draw a line. Things like the D&D series, Movie Mindset (which is currently partially included, and notably some episodes like the Oscars Preview are released like normal Bonus episodes, making it hard to justify excluding all of them.), and especially the Stitcher series (Hell of Presidents and the completely forgotten Time for My Stories(still missing, will add tomorrow)), as well as Seeking a Fren and Hell on Earth. I wouldn't be opposed to make separate lists at the bottom of the article for them, but just keeping it strictly chronological might be easier and less arbitrary. I thought color-coding the fields of these series might be a good compromise (I also think highlighting Premium, live and Bonus episodes would make sense), same for multi-part regular episodes (9/11 two-parter, the 4 part Poppy series on Bush, 3 parts for the Spanish Civil War) or the solo episodes they used to do, Felix on the MMA etc)
In any case, the 'overall number' count would have to be redone (again), so I would prefer settling on an approach and then implementing it chronologically. This is also why I favor the maximalist approach to include basically anything that was made by Chapo and published in one of their feeds, and not have to add anything in between later on. (or do the opposite, only include numbered episodes and move even the Bonus ones into a standalone list, but considering how many of them are basically companion pieces/interviews to a regular episode, that doesn't seem helpful) A particular oddity are interviews (like Steven Donzinger) that were part of (premium) episodes but also published as its own bonus spinoff, some of which are already in this list while others are missing. Excluding feels arbitrary, but so does having essentially duplicate pieces of content. (Either include them and put in the notes that they are part of a proper episode, or don't include them and just mention in the episode's note that the interview also exists on its own?)
@Meguca @MakaMido @TheresTalkGiveItUp @PentagonPizza @Patriotsontop, you are all major contributors to this article, what do you think? (and please double-check the spreadsheet and make annotations if you can, I don't want for someone else to have to redo this a third time) — jonas (talk) 00:43, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
