Retirement
[edit]Besides the obvious sourcing concerns, a temporary account has been adding information about Schon's retirement, which is unsourced. If we can't find a reliable source to verify it, we should just leave it out as per WP:BLP. Thoughts? sjones23 (talk - contributions) 09:44, 9 November 2025 (UTC)
- Something like this definitely needs to be sourced, and shouldn't be on the article without proper sourcing. I also doubt that there is a reliable source verifying this as I don't think that the voice actor retiring is something that would be reported on or announced formally by the subject, and would instead happen quietly. - Well you're wrong he said so on a podcast. Maybe if you put your attitude down you'd find it. https://creators.spotify.com/pod/profile/letstalkpixels/episodes/Episode-2---Kevin-Schon-eki8qj/Lets-Talk-Pixels---Kevin-Schon-a3ebfko ~2025-31029-33 (talk) 13:28, 13 November 2025 (UTC)
- If you wish to add content to Wikipedia, the burden is on you to provide a source that backs up the content you wish to add. Your failure to do that is why you're currently locked out of the article. Furthermore, if you provide a source, other editors may add it on your behalf. But they probably won't if you make them search aimlessly through a 53 minute long podcast. Sergecross73 msg me 19:30, 13 November 2025 (UTC)
- Really funny (and passive aggressive) way to say “You were right”!
- The length of the podcast means nothing. If these two (who are not admins) have enough time on their hands to go to my page and complain about not finding a source, they have enough time to find the information out of the source they asked for. I can't add it when I'm locked out.
- You're right, the burden is on me. You got the source you wanted me to provide but your ego is so hurt from expecting me not to provide one you won't even entertain the idea of adding the source to the article once it's provided and you're more concerned with leaving messages with weird attitude both here and on my profile.
- So I repeat myself, maybe if you put your attitude down this situation would be over by now lol. ~2025-31029-33 (talk) 20:15, 13 November 2025 (UTC)
- That's a very strange read on the situation, particularly to say to me, who has never edited this article before and knows nothing about this subject. I have no reason to be "hurt", I was just pointing out some things you seem to be struggling with in your time on Wikpedia so far:
- I'm making sure you understood WP:BURDEN, because your behavior this far suggested you didn't. And I'm suggesting you narrow down what part of this podcast verifies your point. Much in the same way that, when you add a book source, you'd state the page that is relevant, you don't just point vaguely towards a 200 page book. Sergecross73 msg me 20:32, 13 November 2025 (UTC)
- @~2025-31029-33: - I agree with Sergecross73's points regarding WP:BURDEN - can you provide a timestamp/timerange in the podcast where he discusses his retirement and Palm Springs? The podcast seems fine as a primary source if it discusses the content in question. The onus is on the editor adding content to demonstrate verifibility, particularly for WP:BLP articles, and prior to you linking the podcast my cursory search for reliable sources discussing this hadn't turned up anything. - @~2025-31029-33: - I've re-added the info about retirement and Palm Springs (re-wording slightly, e.g. "In 2020" to "As of 2020") with the podcast as a reference. Waxworker (talk) 20:24, 15 November 2025 (UTC)
