Citation of Mimicry by Richard Bowlder Sharpe

[edit]

Recent edit added reference to Richard Bowdler Sharpe as having noted the mimicry of adult Orante Hawks by Juvenile Grey-bellied hawks (he refers to the latter as Astur pectoralis, although it has now been renamed Accipiter poliogaster, as per https://avibase.bsc-eoc.org/species.jsp?avibaseid=961C27AAA95E2167 ) . In support of this edit, I said I would give links to the images of the text by Bowdler Sharpe cited, since this book is long out of copyright and is not easy to find/unavailable online. Therefore, here is a picture of the relevant text from an 1898 hardback copy https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:20260504_232207_-_Copy.jpg and here is a picture of its title page with its publisher info- https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:20260504_232246_-_Copy.jpg ~2026-25757-53 (talk) 22:47, 4 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
