[edit]In May 2025, Lineker shared an Instagram story about the Israel-Gaza conflict from the account “Palestine Lobby”, which featured a rat emoji. These animals were frequently depicted as symbols for Jews during the Nazi era. Lineker subsequently apologized, calling it a mistake and oversight. He announced that he would resign as a TV presenter at the BBC after this season. ~2025-34291-66 (talk) 14:45, 17 November 2025 (UTC)
