Replace | nationality = Palestinian with | citizenship = Ottoman Empire

[edit]

Replace | nationality = Palestinian with | citizenship = Ottoman Empire. Rationale: MOS:INFONAT advises against nationality and, where relevant, to use legal citizenship. Al-Alami died in March 1924, before Lausanne entered into force (6 Aug 1924) and before the Palestinian Citizenship Order-in-Council took effect (1 Aug 1925). Arabic and Hebrew Wikipedia versions and Wikidata reflect Ottoman status. Yeah, makes sense to me. Where'd you get the specific month of his death from, BTW?
User:Ainty Painty, you added this infobox; do you have a case for keeping "Palestinian"?

No, and what about Ottoman Palestinian per Category:Arab people from Ottoman Palestine? Ainty Painty (talk) 02:33, 1 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
