The contentious topics procedure applies to this article. This article relates to gender-related disputes or controversies or people associated with them.
This article should adhere to the gender identity guideline because it contains material about one or more non-binary people. Precedence should be given to self-designation as reported in the most up-to-date reliable sources, anywhere in article space, even when it does not match what is most common in reliable sources. Any person whose gender might be questioned should be referred to by the pronouns, possessive adjectives, and gendered nouns (for example "man/woman", "waiter/waitress", "chairman/chairwoman") that reflect that person's latest expressed gender self-identification. Many, but not all, non-binary people go by singular they pronouns, which are acceptable for use in articles. This applies in references to any phase of that person's life, unless the subject has indicated a preference otherwise. Former, pre-transition names of living persons may only be included if the person was notable while using the name; outside of the main biographical article, such names should only appear once, in a footnote or parentheses. If material violating this guideline is repeatedly inserted, or if there are other related issues, please report the issue to the LGBTQ+ WikiProject, or, in the case of living people, to the BLP noticeboard.
This is the talk page for discussing improvements to the Ezra Miller article. This is not a forum for general discussion of the subject of the article.

Contentious material about living persons that is unsourced or poorly sourcedmust be removed immediately from the article and its talk page, especially if potentially libellous. If such material is repeatedly inserted, or if you have other concerns, please report the issue to this noticeboard. If you are a subject of this article, or acting on behalf of one, and you need help, please see this help page.

Identification has become a mental health issue and not reality. If someone identifies as something racist/sexist/offensive will you also comply there as well? ~2026-65861-9 (talk) 05:45, 30 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Does this go for any public figure even if they decide to change their pronouns to something and might be using that to make fun? But wikipedia would then still have to use those pronouns? With absolutely no reservations? IE if a right wing comedian started going by some made up terms we would have to reflect that in their biographical article? 24.63.3.107 (talk) 14:11, 14 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
At least on Andrew Tate, there seems to be very strong doubt as to whether Tate's pronoun declaration was actually sincere that editors have opted for he/him. That would be the most probable outcome for this hypothetical right wing comedian. Based5290 :3 (talk) 07:12, 16 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The phrase, "a group of teenagers" taunting Miller over their mixed martial arts skills, and that they did not strangle the woman…” under “The Choking Incident” heading is confusing as hell. It would truly help comprehension to replace “their” with “Miller’s”, and “they” with “Miller” for the purpose of clarity. ~2026-38753-0 (talk) 21:28, 18 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Or better yet, use the correct pronouns. While Ezra himself might use weird inappropriate pronouns, THE PEOPLE READING DO NOT. It's an absolute nightmare to read woke drivel, it's patently wrong, and obliterates any objective legitimacy of the source. 2600:100C:B05E:52B1:29FE:1A73:DD2B:918A (talk) 22:36, 26 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
In the article: "Miller later became engaged to Erin, a woman they began dating in 2016, but called it off after a spiritual advisor told them that she was a "parasite"."
Did the advisor tell Miller or did the advisor tell Miller and Erin? --Naaman Brown (talk) 18:21, 19 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Not done: See the first footnote on the article, and the top of the talk page. Articles on Wikipedia use whichever pronouns the subject has most recently requested for themselves, per MOS:GID. See also Singular they. Umby 🌕🐶 (talk) 05:13, 30 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia only uses he, she or they pronouns, so thankfully we don’t have to worry too much about talking in WP:Wikivoice about people self-referring in some hypothetical racist way, other than to report on it neutrally. — HTGS (talk)11:48, 30 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
