Flag in Infobox

I removed the flag of the Italian Republic (established 1946), as failing to represent accurately the complex political history of the city and diocese. Before the RI, Patti was part of the Kingdom of Italy, the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, the Kingdom of Naples, the Aragonese Kingdom of Sicily, the German Empire (of Frederick II), the Greek Empire of Constantinople, and others.

In addition, the Italian Republic has been a secular state since 1984.
