Refractive index

The article says
"The main function of crystallins at least in the lens of the eye is probably to increase the refractive index"
So I say
The main information needed in this article is probably the value of the refractive index of crystallins.

Protein Table

The table of human crystallins in this article is poorly sourced and not instantly verifiable from the reference. Furthermore, a list of human crystallins is probably not the most relevant thing that can be put here. I suggest something akin to Table 1 from Augusteyn and Stevens (1998) - a list of most of the crystallin families and the taxons in which they are found. Malnu (talk) 13:46, 30 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
