Is javelina the common name?
[edit]Where this animal is native in English speaking areas the common name is javelina, but I can see if collared peccary might be more common in guide books. Do we prioritize what it’s called in its native range or what it’s called in litterateur? I at least think Javalina should be should be put in a more obvious spot at the top of the article to reduce confusion of people that don’t know the term “collard peccary” 174.21.199.33 (talk) 17:25, 23 August 2024 (UTC)
Wrong Genus Name
[edit]Collared Peccary are Pecari tajacu (Genus and species), not Dicotyles tajacu. Also, the more common common name is Javelina, not collared peccary.

Uses section looks written by AI, and contains little real information
[edit]"Opinions differ on taste" How? In what way? Who's opinions? What does it taste like?
Then you click through the citation, and it says nothing at all about anything mentioned in that brief section.
So I think it's safe to say it's AI slop, and needs rewriting and expansion... by a human... with citations that support what is written. ~2026-35259-91 (talk) 11:07, 17 June 2026 (UTC)
