It might just be me, but I think theres something about Russia in bold at the top of the page And I'm pretty sure the facts there aren't correct. 173.183.191.186 (talk) 23:57, 19 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Dispute about Infobox content

[edit]

An issue has come up: should the infobox to this article contain the field "government_type", filled in with "Parliamentary constitutional monarchy". Since this issue affects all ten provinces and the three territories, a Request for Comment has been started on the Canadian Wikipedians Notice Board. If you are interested in this issue, please come to the Notice Board and contribute to the discussion. Mr Serjeant Buzfuz (talk) 01:05, 3 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure why provinces are compared to territories?

[edit]

IE for GDP or land area the comparison should be between provinces. Territories are not provinces, provinces are not territories and it really doesn't make sense to group them together in terms of ranking. 68.147.83.38 (talk) 03:49, 29 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect information in side box

[edit]

Hey, I'm unsure how to fix the data in the side box. Currently the "houseseats" says 37 of 338, which is incorrect as of the 2021 redistribution. It should be "37 of 343". The variable has been updated, but I can't find out how to fix the overall number. I've updated the other provincial numbers, as well. Mtylerb (talk) 07:27, 1 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Mtylerb - It seems to be fixed now, though I can't say how or who did it! The Interior (Talk) 10:39, 9 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
A few days ago I saw the out-of-date 338, so I fixed it by editing the template. Sorry I didn't notice this discussion, or I would have notified sooner. Indefatigable (talk) 13:07, 9 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion: Add opioid mortality and workforce data to Health care section

[edit]

Disclosing per WP:COI: I am affiliated with Inspurious, a Canadian data journalism site that publishes analyses of Statistics Canada and other government data.

The "Health care" section covers system structure, funding, and infrastructure but has no data on public health outcomes or workforce size. I'd suggest adding two sentences at the end of the section:

Alberta recorded approximately 1,133 opioid-related deaths annually averaged over 2016–2024, corresponding to 25.2 deaths per 100,000 population — the second-highest per-capita rate among Canadian provinces after British Columbia.[1]

The healthcare and social assistance sector employed approximately 339,000 workers in Alberta as of 2025, up from approximately 64,000 in 1976 — a 432% increase, outpacing overall provincial employment growth of 218% over the same period.[2]

Both datasets sourced from Statistics Canada and Public Health Agency of Canada respectively. Buffleheader (talk)

"Grassroots"?

[edit]

This page seems to be subject to frequent vandalism. An edit from the 6th of may added this:

In 2025-2026 a grassroots political movement, initiated a campaign advocating for Alberta to become independent. According to reports it has raised over 300,000 signatures, more than enough to force a referendum question.

The page Alberta separatism mentions allegations of election interference by the Russian government. Obviously grassroots is not a word that is objectively defendable here. Ybllaw (talk) 09:06, 22 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
