Decrease
[edit]Can somebody put template "
" for population in infobox since Albania has lost huge number of residents? -- 188.120.118.65 (talk)
Change to percentage of Albanians and "Other" in the infobx edit request on 8 April 2026

I think the information in the infobox regarding ethnic composition is slightly miscalculated. The percentage of Albanians should be 97%, while "other" should be 2%.
By looking at the provided source, I get the proportion of people identifiying to be albanians to be 2186917/( 2 402113- 13507 - 134451) = 0.97017. The infobox writes 0.977. 2186917 is the number of people identifying as Albanians in the census, 13507 is the number of "prefer not to answer", and 134451 is the number of not available respondents.
The percentage of people identifying as Greek would likewise be calculated as 23485/( 2 402113- 13507 - 134451) = 0.0104, which matches the current info. Others would thus be 2% of the total population.
"None" as a category was not used to decrease from the total because I think it does not represent a lack of information regarding the respondent, but rather its own form of ethnic identity.
Alternatively, the infobox could be changed to match how the information regarding religion is presented, where "prefer not to say" is its own category, but I personally think that is a bit confusing and does not line up with how people usually view the ethnic composition of a country. Done Yeah I looked and the "Other" category accounts for 42,611 people, while the Greek category accounts for 23,485 people, so something here is clearly incorrect. I will get on it, marking this as done but give me a few minutes to fix the article. ⹃Maltazarian ᚾparleyinvestigateᛅ 06:31, 10 April 2026 (UTC)
Demographics: pink chart
[edit]Currently there is a chart under the Demographics section of the article captioned "Development of the population of Albania over the last sixty years," and BOTH axes are unlabeled. I know x-axis is year, and I think y-axis is "population in thousands." This chart needs some help; but it looks like it's an automatically-generated chart?
