Olga Nikolaevna Alimova (Russian: Ольга Николаевна Алимова; born 10 April 1953) is a Russian politician who was a member of the State Duma for Saratov Oblast from 2011 to 2016 and from 2018 to 2021.[1] She was re-elected to the State Duma in the 2021 Russian legislative elections.[2] She is a member of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, and is the leader of that party's Saratov branch.[3][4] Alimova is an advocate for the re-introduction of the death penalty.[5] Alimova received attention in October 2019, when she denounced indie video game Sex with Stalin as "disgusting".[6]
Legislative activity
[edit]From 2011 to 2019, during her tenure as a deputy of the State Duma of the 6th and 7th convocations, she co-authored 98 legislative initiatives and amendments to draft federal laws.[7]
In October 2019, after the murder of a nine-year-old schoolgirl in Saratov, she advocated lifting the moratorium on the death penalty.[8]
She also criticized the draft law on domestic violence developed by State Duma deputy Oksana Pushkina.[9]
