Luca Dylan Bombino (born July 10, 2006) is an American professional soccer player who plays left back for Major League Soccer club San Diego FC.
Career
[edit]Los Angeles FC
[edit]Bombino played as part of the Los Angeles FC academy setup from 2017, before playing with the club's MLS Next Pro side Los Angeles FC 2 in both 2023 and 2024. On September 7, 2024, he was temporarily part of the first team squad,[1] before signing permanently as a homegrown player a week later.[2]
San Diego FC
[edit]On February 25, 2025, Bombino joined San Diego FC on a season-long loan ahead of their inaugural season.[3][4][5][6] He scored his first professional goal on July 5, netting during a 3–4 loss at home to Houston Dynamo.[7][8] On November 18, San Diego FC exercised their option to sign Bombino on a permanent basis.[9] On April 11, 2026 Luca scored SDFC's 100th goal.[10]
International career
[edit]Born in the United States, Bombino is of Italian descent.[11] Luca was named as an alternate for the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup, but did not make the final 21 man roster.[12]He was called up to the United States U20s for the 2024 CONCACAF U-20 Championship.[13] Luca was part of the squad at the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup that took place in Chile.[14]
