Help:Media
Some Wikipedia articles include sound or video files. All modern browsers will play video (Theora and WebM) and audio (Vorbis and MP3) files from Wikipedia, no modifications needed.
On older iOS, iPadOS, and macOS devices, software decoding will be used. This might be a bit slow compared to what you are used to on such devices. Internet Explorer is not supported.
MIDI files
Music files may occasionally use the MIDI format (.MID or .MIDI extension). Wikipedia can play a MIDI file by converting it to digital audio, or depending on how the MIDI file is linked it may rely on your computer's browser and hardware to play the MIDI file.
Creating media files
For help making and converting video and audio into formats usable on Wikipedia, see Wikipedia:Creation and usage of media files.
