Career
[edit]Stand-up comedy and digital media (2015–2022)
[edit]Hashmi began his career in entertainment performing stand-up comedy, notably appearing in the live local collective The Laughing Stock in Karachi.[4] He gained wider public recognition through self-published digital comedic videos. In 2020, he was profiled by Aurora magazine as a notable digital media figure following his rapid audience growth on social media platforms.[3]
In 2020, Hashmi was cast as the host of To Be Honest (TBH), a digital celebrity talk show produced by Nashpati Prime.[4] Directed by Azfar Ali, the web-series featured unscripted, candid interviews with entertainment personalities and digital content creators, including Sanam Jung, Saboor Aly, and Irfan Junejo.[4] The series ran for three seasons, establishing Hashmi's profile for quick wit and conversational broadcasting. He announced his departure from the digital platform in January 2022 after signing a broadcast contract with Geo Network.[4]
Mainstream television broadcasting (2022–present)
[edit]Hashmi transitioned to mainstream television hosting in 2022 with the launch of Hasna Mana Hai, a weekend evening comedy talk show broadcast on Geo TV.[1] The format blends celebrity interviews with audience interaction and satirical sketches.[6] During cricket tournaments in 2025, he also hosted the live sports-comedy program Haarna Mana Hai alongside former international cricketers Rashid Latif and Fawad Alam.[7]

His transition to acting received positive critical commentary; the Khaleej Times noted his character's introduction as an entertainment highlight of the film,[11] while Dawn Images observed that he balanced a menacing persona with comic vulnerability.[10]
