History
[edit]Studio Nicholson was founded in 2010 by Nick Wakeman.[1] The company was initially established as a womenswear label, with collections focused on wardrobe staples such as shirts, jeans and tailoring. [2]
In 2017, Studio Nicholson expanded into menswear, which subsequently grew to account for a substantial proportion of the company's sales.[2]
According to Vogue Business, the company has expanded its international presence across Asia, including Japan, China and South Korea, and is stocked by retailers in multiple countries.[1]
Reception

Writing in the Financial Times, Simon Chilvers described the brand as a "cult label" and noted its emphasis on fabric, colour and fit.[2]
Le Monde characterised the company's collections as influenced by Japanese minimalism and noted its use of natural colour palettes, knitwear, tailoring and denim.[3]
The Evening Standard described Studio Nicholson as a minimalist fashion brand and highlighted its growth from a London-based independent label into an internationally distributed business.[4]
