Early Life

[edit]

Santhosh George G was born on 19 June 1972 in Thiruvananthapuram district, which is a  bilingual village bordering Kerala and Tamil Nadu. His father, Capt. George Joshua, was a professor at Christian College, Kattakada, and his mother, Florence Inpam, taught English at the same institution for several decades. He has three sisters: Dr. Shanthi Dickson, Dr. Shirly Jacob, and Mrs. Jayanthy Sunny.

From an early age  mother instilled values of care and compassion which would later help towards his professional calling. . At age eight, he assisted an elderly woman in his village who had been affected by polio and supported herself through embroidery work, ferrying materials and finished garments between her home and the embroidery center and helping her with provisions; his mother arranged for him to rent a bicycle each weekend as a reward.

George grew up helping with his family's vegetable and fruit farming and was active in local sport, including with the Star Arts and Sports Club in his village of Cheruvarakonam. He completed his primary education at a village school, his secondary education at a government school in Parassala, Kerala, and his higher secondary education at St. Joseph's Convent in Thiruvananthapuram.

"The complexity and simplicity of transforming our world depend on whether you talk or act. If you talk, it's complex; and if you act, it's simple”
