Raul-Xavier Garcia (born 24 October 2003) is an Australian actor and model.[1] He began his career on stage in 2022, as Angel Dumott Schunard in TheLot Theatre’s production of RENT,[2] before making his film debut in Alice Maio Mackay film Satranic Panic[3] He also appeared in the South Australian film Emotion is Dead[4] which was released in 2024.
As a model, Raul-Xavier Garcia has worked on runways for international and Australian brands like Wild Mary Gold.[5]
Early life
[edit]Raul-Xavier Garcia was born in Adelaide, Australia, to an Australian mother and Spanish father. He has Uruguayan and Spanish roots from his mother's side. [6] He started working at age 13 in many customer service roles while in high school, also attending acting classes with National Institute of Dramatic Arts' head of acting teacher, Tony Knight[7] who was also taught Cate Blanchett
Career
[edit]Garcia's breakout role was as Angel in TheLot Theatre’s production of RENT[8] which helped to establish him with Aussie audiences before making appearances in Satranic Panic[9] and Emotion is Dead[10].
In 2023 he moved to Sydney to further pursue acting roles in musical theatre, film and television. His credits include Home and Away, NCIS: Sydney, Bump: A Christmas Film and Spaceballs: The New One which is set to release in 2027[11]
Along his work as a runway model, Raul-Xavier Garcia was featured in the December 2024 edition of British Vogue[12] for the brand Wild Mary Gold.
Personal life
[edit]Raul-Xavier Garcia identifies as queer and is an advocate for social justice having attended protests such as for racism and racial equality[13] and abortion rights.
